The EIT Urban Mobility Scale-up Programme offers a new opportunity for startups developing urban mobility solutions that are ready to scale internationally. Applications for the 2025 edition are now open – and if you’re working to create a more sustainable and livable cities, this is a programme worth considering.

Cities across Europe are transforming rapidly – and startups that are bold enough to rethink how urban transport works are playing a key role. Whether it’s a new type of micromobility solution, a data-driven traffic management platform, or a more sustainable logistics system, innovation is at the heart of this change.
What the Scale-up Programme offers in a nutshell:
- A 3-month intensive programme for more mature startups
- Mentorship, business development, networking, and international pilot opportunities
- Access to cities, corporates, and investors through the EIT Urban Mobility ecosystem
This isn’t a classic incubator or early-stage accelerator. It’s for startups that have already made some progress and are now ready to take bigger steps: entering international markets, securing funding, and forming strategic partnerships.
Over the three-month period, participants receive tailored mentoring, business support, access to investor networks, and the chance to present at leading European mobility events – such as Tomorrow.Mobility in Barcelona and Ultimate Demo Day in Munich. Travel support is also provided to selected participants.

To bring it closer to home, we spoke with BLOCK, a Hungarian scaleup that participated in the programme back in 2023. Spoiler: it was worth it.

“We still use what we learned at the sales workshop” – Interview with the BLOCK startup team
Can you briefly introduce your startup?
BLOCK is a scale-up providing both innovative and traditional infrastructure for bicycle and scooter parking. Our best-known solution is the P2 docking station, which offers secure, theft-proof parking and charging capability at the same time.
Why did you decide to apply for the EIT Urban Mobility Scale-up Programme?
Our decision was based on positive past experiences with EIT, and we were also highly motivated by the travel support offered for the Smart City Expo in Barcelona.
What did the programme give you? In what way did it support your growth most?
We attended several useful trainings in Prague as part of the programme, but the sales workshop stood out in particular – we still actively use the knowledge we gained there in our sales processes.
Did any tangible results come out of the programme?
The programme helped shape the direction of our next two products, the G6 Bike Garage and K1 Bike Container, which significantly accelerated our innovation cycle.
What was your experience of the programme community, including mentors and other startups?
Most of the participants were older than me, so networking wasn’t always easy at first – but everyone was respectful, interesting, and great to work with.
What would you say to startups considering applying?
Don’t overthink it – just apply!
